Machmud Makhmudov (GLI 2018)

"I presently work at the White House on our global COVID vaccination program, where I've been lucky to be a part of sending out over 150 million doses to dozens of countries to date. One of these shipments went to Uzbekistan where I was born. Being able to learn from GLI's global cohort gave me incredible insight into America's role in the international community and helped me develop relationships that continue to this day. I feel incredibly lucky to have spent a year with GLI and still rely on the leadership skills that I developed there."

Ayushma Basnyat (GLI 2015)

"I work with UNDP’s Governance Unit in Nepal. My experience with the bright brains of GLI has allowed me to consciously consider how my leadership actions unfold through the work I do at the grassroot communities, to ensure no one is left behind in the development agenda. I am so grateful for the GLI experience that inculcated this strong sense of morality in me."

"My experiences with the GLI have positively impacted my leadership skills. In particular, the guest speakers inspired me to be confident and use these leadership skills to give back to my community. Currently, I am working at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and the experience acquired during the programme will forever be a part of my leadership journey."

"The GLI has given me the right tools to begin conversations about leadership all around me: from advising friends, to questioning intervention approaches in many situations. It taught me to constantly grow in my leadership skills and share this gift with others."
