Dr Barnabas Aspray
Teaching Fellow

Barnabas is a Teaching Fellow for the Oxford Character Project’s Global Leadership Initiative. Before completing a PhD in philosophy of religion at Cambridge University, he worked as a software engineer for the BBC website for many years. His most recent role was as a Junior Research Fellow at Pembroke College, where he undertook research on the ethics of refugees and immigration. His particular interests include the history of ideas, the relationship between philosophy and theology, and the intersection between social justice and virtue ethics. Barnabas hosts a podcast called Faith at the Frontiers and is the author of Ricœur at the Limits of Philosophy (CUP: 2022).
