Morgan Briggs

Morgan is an Associate Teaching Fellow for the Oxford Character Project's Global Leadership Initiative. Trained as a data scientist, Morgan currently works full-time as the Policy Research and Strategy Manager for the Public Policy Programme at The Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national institute for data science and AI. At The Turing, Morgan delivers a strategy and research agenda in the area of digital society and policy. Morgan works on a variety of projects involving the use of data science to improve public service provision and policy innovation, as well as the ethical considerations of data science methodologies. She has worked on projects relating to AI explainability, human rights and AI, data justice, and children’s rights and AI. She has experience leading cross-disciplinary teams, partnering with organisations like the ICO, UNICEF, Scotland’s Data Lab, the Office for AI, the Council of Europe’s Committee on Artificial Intelligence, and the Global Partnership on AI, and delivering high-level strategy. Morgan holds an MSc in Social Data Science with Distinction from the University of Oxford.
