Arman Husein
2023 Global Leadership Initiative

Arman Husein is pursuing a master's in Economics for Development at Oxford. Previously, he read Economics and History at Columbia. As a Perdana Fellow to the Minister of Housing and Local Government, he researched inclusive housing and waste management policies. His experience led to the founding of Econsulting, an initiative to empower youths in economic policymaking, and Econsilience, Malaysia's first undergraduate journal. At Oxford, Arman looks into the effects of mental health on economic growth in developing countries, especially middle-income trapped countries. His long-term goal is to strengthen institutions through creative financial solutions, strategic investments, and humanizing data analytics. Arman is from Malaysia.
