Character is key to develop the leaders we want to see

We bring together expertise from the humanities and social sciences to deliver programmes for students and young professionals.

The Oxford Character Project engages with students all over the world to inspire and empower a new generation of leaders driven by character and purpose. In Oxford, our flagship programme – the Global Leadership Initiative – is open to postgraduate students who show strong leadership potential. We also co-organise a week-long Global Leadership Challenge for students and young professionals around the world.

Our online course – Leadership for Flourishing – is open to anyone, anywhere, with an interest in character and leadership. Developed in partnership with the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University, the course is free of charge, making our resources accessible for anyone. Taking the learnings from our research and teaching experience in Oxford, we aim to make world-class leadership education available to future leaders across boundaries.

Through the Global Leadership Initiative, I have been given a space in which to share and reflect on my current and future work in the world, and the character traits I want to embody as I continue to take on leadership roles.
