Kay Shigemori

Kay is currently pursuing a DPhil in Cancer Biology at the Department of Oncology, University of Oxford and is a member of Green Templeton College. Her career passion lies in finding novel approaches to combating cancer. Most recently, her research has focused on the prevention of tumour formation by generating “in situ” cancer vaccines with radiation, and has received the National Cancer Institute Award for this work. Kay has grown up in Japan and Singapore, and her career has taken her to the United States and the United Kingdom. Apart from her research, she has been actively involved in technology and innovation programmes at Oxford, and loves to run, go to concerts and read books in her free time.
