Sara Shasha'h was a member of the GLI 2022 cohort in the Tech & Innovation stream.
Sara pursued an MSc in Translational Health Sciences at the University of Oxford. She is a UK trained Pharmacist by background and worked in the NHS for a couple of years before moving back to her home country Jordan. More recently, Sara has worked across two main roles as a Healthcare and Life Sciences Senior Consultant and the Remote Global Health and Education Program Director for the Children of War Foundation. Through her work with the Foundation, Sara has initiated a remote education program collaborating with local ed-tech platforms and connecting refugees and disadvantaged students to education through the provision of tablets and internet access. Additionally, she led the first remote medical triage through Assisted Reality glasses near the Jordanian border on-ground. Sara is passionate about implementing the learning from the Translational Health MSc to bridge the gap to more equitable healthcare. Sara is also a visual artist and paints with acrylic on canvas. Sara is a member of Kellogg College.
Sara felt that the Global Leadership Initiative provided her a great opportunity to connect with fellow postgraduates outside of her field of study. She found the conversations with people from various disciplines and backgrounds to be the highlight of the programme and helped to broaden her understanding of leadership.
The Global Leadership Initiative works to bring together a diverse group of students to engage in weekly discussions about leadership, learn more at: https://oxfordcharacter.org/for-students/global-leadership-initiative-gli
