Isatou Bokum

Isatou M. Bokum is a Media Professional with over five years of experience in the media industry. In addition to a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of The Gambia, she holds an Honours degree in Media Theory and Practice from the University of Cape Town, where she was a Mandela Rhodes Scholar. Isatou is an advocate of women's and girls' rights, and at age 21, she started a non-profit organisation called Girls Talk Organisation that advocates for the rights and well-being of girls and young women. Currently, she is completing a Master's degree in Women’s Gender and Sexuality at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. Her future plans include building a career in policy development to better the lives of women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa by designing, developing, and proposing appropriate policy measures.
