Samuel Baker

Samuel is pursuing a DPhil in Engineering Science as an EPSRC scholar with the Centre of Excellence for Hybrid Thermal Propulsion Systems. He joined Oxford after graduating second in his year group of Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University, where he also enjoyed international sporting successes as part of the British national teams for both triathlon and rowing. Currently, he is studying the application of dimensionality reduction techniques to extract patterns from measurements of fluid flows, while training with the university rowing team for the Lightweight Boat Race against Cambridge in 2023.
