Hark-Joon Lee

Hark-Joon Lee is a filmmaker, journalist, and researcher based at the University of Oxford, where he serves as a Korea Fellow with the Oxford Character Project. His work focuses on Korean popular culture, media, and storytelling in a global context. He works at the intersection of research and creative practice.
He began his career in journalism, including work as a war correspondent, before moving into documentary filmmaking. His work has been internationally recognised, including three Emmy Award nominations and the Golden Nymph Award at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, and has been broadcast on platforms such as the BBC, Netflix, and Amazon Prime.
