This Autumn, Dr Ed Brooks, Execuitve Director of The Oxford Character Project, was invited to present at the conference "Flying High: Building Universities' Reputation" at the University of Navarra.
The speakers highlighted the need to strengthen the connection of the University and its students after the coronavirus crisis, especially suffered by young people. The experts agreed on making sense of the links with a special care for the university purpose and the cultivation of the character (integral formation) of the students.
The connection is not something instrumental, technological, but has a dimension of meaning and belonging that Universities must promote and cultivate in their relationship with students. The University can help strengthen its ties with students through relevant, professional and specialized communication , with meaningful messages and with channels and languages appropriate for young people, the speakers insisted.
Dr Brooks presented on “Reconnecting with Students”. A recording of his presentation, which was delivered online, can be viewed here.
