At The Oxford Character Project, we believe that leadership must be rooted in both competence and character, especially at a time when global trust in leaders in fragile.
Drawing on years of research and practice, we have developed a free, online course that features four central virtues for leadership: purpose, courage, love, and hope. Purpose supports vision and direction that advance the common good. Courage enables leaders to act on their values, even in the face of difficulty, risk, or discomfort. Love, understood as a commitment to the good of others, fostering security, trust and collaboration. And hope empowers leaders to persevere toward a better future.
As we head into the next decade, our mission remains clear: to educate and equip leaders with the highest levels of excellence in both competence and character who will shape a more flourishing society. Through partnerships, research, and educational programmes, we hope to support a new generation of leaders at Oxford and around the world.
