James is a second year DPhil student in the department of Clinical Neurosciences. He has a particular focus on computational modelling to optimise deep brain stimulation protocols for patients with Parkinson's disease and Epilepsy. James previously obtained a Master of Engineering Science degree from the University of Oxford, where he specialised in biomedical engineering and the potential for neuromodulation to reduce blood pressure. Additionally, he has broader interests into the ethical considerations of brain-computer interfaces, particularly regarding patients of diminished cognitive ability. James enjoys many sports, including football and rugby, and is a member of Wolfson College.
