Ethics through fiction and film: Just Mercy

Past event
Just Mercy 2

The Oxford Character Project warmly invites you to take part in the next event in our Ethics through fiction and film series.

This term we will be reading, viewing and discussing Just Mercy our first work of 'non-fiction'. Just Mercy is the New York Times bestseller written by Bryan Stevenson, a graduate of Harvard Law who moved to Alabama to defend death-row prisoners and set-up the Equal Justice Initiative. An acclaimed film of the memoir, starring Jamie Foxx and Michael B Jordan, was released in 2019.

Participants will read the novel in their own time throughout term with film-viewing and discussions taking place online in 9th and 10th weeks (from Monday 15th March with exact times and dates scheduled with input from participants). The event is open to anyone interested and usually attracts an interesting group of students, researchers as well as some of the Oxford Character Project team.

If you'd like to take part in the event, please email jonathan.brant@theology.ox.ac.uk for further details.
