In the Opening Ceremony of the Global Leadership Challenge at the University of Oxford, we will host a high-level panel discussion, featuring Prof. Ngaire Woods, Founding Dean of the Blavatnik School of Government at the University of Oxford, which will explore how young leaders can address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. We will have welcoming remarks from our partners, Denis Mizne, CEO of the Lemann Foundation) and Andrew Serazin, DPhil, President of Templeton World Charity Foundation. The Ceremony will set the scene and inspire our participants to take advantage of the Challenge to begin putting their ideas into action. The Opening Ceremony will be moderated by Dr Edward Brooks, Executive Director of the Oxford Character Project.
The public Opening Ceremony will take place on 9th December from 1:00-2:00 pm GMT / 2:00-3:00 pm CET. You can register to participate online here.
During the Closing Ceremony of the GLC, H.E. Dominic Barton, Canadian Ambassador to China, Dr Christian Mumenthaler, Group CEO of Swiss Re and Prof. Judith Walls, Director of the Institute for Economy and the Environment of the University of St.Gallen will explore the ways in which responsible leadership can make a difference in addressing today’s key challenges. The Ceremony will also showcase the three most outstanding ideas developed throughout GLC 2021 by young leaders from around the world. Following short pitches from the groups, our Award Jury will announce whose idea stands out as the first winner of GLC 2021, and who will thus join the 51st St. Gallen Symposium as Leaders of Tomorrow.
The public Closing Ceremony will take place on 15 December from 2:00 – 3:30 pm GMT / 3:00 – 4:30 pm CET at the Lokremise, St. Gallen. You can register for both physical and digital participation.
