Cultivating Character in Leadership: Insights from Collaboration with the Bai Xian Asia Institute

Bai Xian Leadership 2

In August 2024, the Oxford Character Project (OCP) joined the Bai Xian Asia Institute (BXAI) Summer Programme in Shanghai—a gathering of scholars from 13 countries and regions dedicated to building bridges through relationships. As part of this initiative, Dr Corey Crossan, Research Fellow at the Oxford Character Project, led a workshop on character and leadership, fostering a cross-cultural exchange of educational strategies that reflect its commitment to ethical leadership development.

In the video Meet Our Speaker: Dr Corey Crossan & Ms Angela Cheung (Part 1), Dr Crossan, on behalf of OCP, explored the integration of character into leadership. Drawing on insights from exercise science, the discussion highlighted how daily habits and deliberate practice cultivate resilience and sustained excellence in both personal and professional spheres, offering practical strategies for leadership development.

Through global collaborations such as this, the Oxford Character Project continues to build bridges and foster global partnerships, equipping ethical and effective leaders with the skills to navigate complexity and create meaningful impact worldwide.
