Shaping political leadership through values, character, and responsibility at Leadership Excellence in Politics (LEiP).

We are pleased to announce that Dr Edward Brooks, Executive Director of the Oxford Character Project, has joined the Expert Council of the Leadership Excellence in Politics (LEiP) initiative.

The council brings together leading voices from academia, policy, and practice to explore what excellent political leadership looks like today and how it can be fostered for the future. In a recent interview with Peter Cunningham, Dr Brooks shared his motivation for joining the initiative and his vision for advancing leadership rooted in character, values, and ethical responsibility.

Highlighting the importance of qualities such as resilience, intellectual humility, courage, and justice, he emphasised the need to prepare a new generation of political leaders capable of guiding societies through complex and interconnected challenges.

Dr Brooks’s contribution will help shape LEiP’s mission to understand and develop leadership that enables individuals, communities, and societies to flourish.
